The "Legal Tender Band" is based around the duo of Ian and Moira Campbell who have been performing an eclectic mix of rural folk covers and originals around New Zealand for more years than they care to remember. They also frequently add other musicians to the line-up when a bigger band feel is appropriate and current additions are Wayne mason on keys and guitar and Nicola Hooker on drums. They have collaborated with many other kiwi musicians including various members of the Hamilton county Bluegrass band, Bullfrog Rata, The Andrew London Trio, Carylann and many others. They feature regularly at various country/folk festivals and concerts around New Zealand. With their blend of alternate rural/folk covers and their own down-home original songs they have entertained audiences from the Bay of Islands to the Deep south. Sensitive arrangements of various americana artists like Guy Clarke, Hank Williams, Lorri Mckenna are rendered with earthy integrity and powerful vocal harmonies.
